The Distributed Information Sub-Center (Sub-DIC) was established
by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India
at Department of Biotechnology, Birla Institute of Technology,
Mesra, Ranchi in the year of 2005. Organization of training
programs, workshops and scientific meetings besides M.Sc.
Bioinformatics program in order to create awareness of
bioinformatics in the local community is among its regular
activities.
Major research activities
Molecular Modeling and Drug
design, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Database development,
Functional Genomics and Computational Bioinformatics.
